Queensland Success at Australian Junior Championships

Queensland won the E.J. v Szakall Cup for the Overall Champion State at the 2012 Australian Junior Fencing Championships. Having won three of the events and picking up a number of minor placings, Queensland finished two points clear of New South Wales and Victoria. It is the first time that Queensland has won the award and caps off a remarkable year for our Junior fencers who won the similar trophy at the Australian Cadet Championships in July.

Canteen Helpers Needed

This year the Queensland Fencing Association secured hosting rights to the Junior National Championships. This is a great opportunity to raise funds for Queensland fencing by running a canteen over the four days of the competition. A canteen stocked with healthy food options is also a great service to our interstate visitors, many of whom will not have access to commercial food outlets.

Can you help?

If you can commit a few hours on one or more days of competition to serve at canteen, or maybe provide some home cooked goodies to sell, please contact:

Angela Bensted
