Social Saturday Novice Competition

Event information

Registrations for this event are not currently available.

Following up from our Into to Fencing competition in March, this Novice Fencing Competition will allow fencers an opportunity for another building block in their competition experience in a fun and relaxed morning for fencers or all ages.

The competition will include a walkthrough of all aspects of equipment required to compete in QFA run events, how to wear and use equipment, competitions structure, poule fencing, using electronic scoring boxes, explanation of refereeing calls, match scoring and seedings. In order to make the morning more enjoyable for family and friends, the QFA will aim to have volunteers to help the family and friends of fencers understand all of the elements of the competition.

The Tournament Management Committee will provide a tournament structure that optimises the fencing time at this Novice Competition while preparing the fencers for high level competitions. Age and gender groupings will be based on registrations.

Fencers wishing to enter this event require QFA School, Club, Junior or Senior membership, and have less than 2 years of fencing experience. If you think you are a novice but sit outside this definition, please email darren.powrie@qfa.org.au.

Note that fencers must provide their own individual equipment, the QFA has no capacity to lend this equipment for this competition. Some clubs or schools may have capacity to provide rental or loan gear, please contact them to enquire.
