Changes to Selection Policy for State Representatives

Published Thu 02 Jan 2020

The QFA Selection Policy has been updated to include eligibility conditions for selection to represent Queensland effective from 1 January 2020.

"The following conditions apply to all fencers aiming to represent Queensland at national, international and invitational events:

  1. Individual – Fencers wishing to represent at a national competition must have competed in at least one state age competition or round of a state circuit before being able to nominate for the event. Exemption can be given if an athlete is overseas or for special circumstances as determined by the QFA executive. Requests for exemption must be made 48hrs prior to the close of regular nominations for the national event.

  1. Teams – To be considered for the pool of athletes from which team selection will occur, Queensland fencers must attend the squad block directly before the national event in which they wish to fence teams."

All queries regarding eligibility for selection to represent Queensland should be directed to the State Coaching Director (scd@qfa.org.au).
