The QFA would like to invite interested school fencers to the Development Squad in term 3. The Development Squad is aimed at school or club fencers with at least a year's experience of fencing who would like to continue fencing after the schools fixtures and develop the skills to step beyond these to further competitions and competitive training. The squad is coached by Simon Leitch, a former national champion, and will focus on the tactics and athletic training necessary to approach higher levels of competition. The squad is open to fencers of all three weapons.
Training will use electric scoring and fencers will need their own equipment. There will be a limited amount of equipment available for hire for those who do not have their own gear - if you will need this or for any other questions, please email

The squad will train most Saturdays in term 3 from 2pm to 4pm at Yeronga, unless there is a competition being held there. You can sign up only for certain weeks, or pay for the term at a reduced rate. Please sign up through JustFence, where you can find the squad under "Classes", or follow this
