Join us for the third event of the QFA Winter Series: Novice Foil! This competition is only for fencers with up to two years of experience, providing a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable competition experience in a supportive environment.
This is a half-day competition in foil only. The event will be in the same format as the state championships: 5-point pool bouts followed by 15-point direct-elimination matches.
This event is open to all ages! Where entry numbers allow, fencers will be divided into appropriate age categories.
Fencers must be a Club, School, Junior or Senior member of QFA. Membership must be paid and approved to enter this event.
All fencers intending to compete in this competition must register through the event link. No walk-ins will be accepted on the day.
All participants are expected to assist with setup and pack down of the venue.
Competitions are fenced using full whites and electric equipment, including conductive foil masks. Fencers must supply their own equipment. QFA is unable to lend equipment to fencers.
Fencers must arrive at least 30 minutes before the event start time to get ready. Fencers must be fully equipped and ready to fence at the start time for their event. Events will not be held up for fencers who arrive late.
Check-in will open prior to the event start time, as announced by the DT, approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. Fencers are encouraged to check in as soon as check in opens. Check-in will close at the published event start time. The DT reserves the right to start the event early if all competitors are checked in.
