Club COVID Certifications

Published Fri 15 Jan 2021

As the 2021 fencing season commences, all clubs are reminded that COVID safe training for all volunteers, coaches and officials is required to be undertaken prior to the return to training. QFA maintains a register of certified members.

Compulsory COVID Safe Coach, Official and Volunteer Training

As part of the sport industry return to sport plan all coaches, officials and volunteers in Queensland are required to undertake COVID Safe infection control training. There are currently two free, online training courses in Queensland to choose from:

1. TAFE Queensland - https://tafeqld.edu.au/covid-safe

2. Open Learning - Covid Safe Sport Coach Certification https://www.openlearning.com/courses/covid-safe-sport-coach-certification/?cl=1

This training is compulsory for all coaches, officials, and volunteers in every club throughout Queensland in order to resume training. Once you have completed the online training, submit the completed certificate to secretary@qfa.org.au.

Club COVID Safety Officer Training

All QFA clubs are required to have a COVID Safety Officer registered with QFA prior to returning to training in 2021.

Active Queensland Industry Alliance is offering free COVID Safety Officer training to Queensland sports clubs to help fast track the return to physical activity.

The free online training can be accessed at https://www.aqia.org.au/covidsafety/

Certificates of completion should be forwarded to the Secretary (secretary@qfa.org.au).
